Abwab Beirut Workshop
Abwab Beirut Workshop was founded under the umbrella of Alyarz Benevolent Association after the Beirut Port Explosion in August 2020. Volunteers clearing wooden shards and rubble used debris as canvas to paint iconography, of which sales proceeds went towards families in need.
Today, Abwab Beirut workshop hosts art classes and activities, making and selling handcrafted décor and hand painted art to support ABA’s fundraising initiatives with the help of beloved community volunteers.
Both ABA and Abwab Workshop are located in the AlYarz Leisure Club, offering access to hundreds of members daily where everyone can learn the importance of community and working together through art and creativity.
A Common Vision
Our family of volunteers specialize in writing sacred religious icons, using a traditional egg tempera techniques, to create works imbued with spirituality and symbolism. We offer training open to all to learn the techniques of iconography and painting. The space is not only intended to create products that raise funds for people in need, but is also a means of relaxation and therapy.
